The General Directorate of National Security said in a statement that officers of the National Brigade of Judicial Police, acting on precise information provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, arrested the main suspect on the afternoon of Friday, May 29, in the case involving the incitement of a minor to consume a substance suspected of being intoxicating, an incident captured in a video that was widely circulated on social media.
The National Security services responded to the video, which showed two individuals encouraging a minor to consume what appeared to be an alcoholic beverage. The two suspects were identified, and one of them was arrested during a security operation carried out in the douar of «Al-Khasasma Malin El Oued» near the city of Benslimane, in coordination on the ground with the territorially competent Royal Gendarmerie units.
Preliminary investigations also showed that the two suspects are brothers and that the child victim in the incident is the six-year-old son of their third brother. One of the suspects has been arrested, while the second brother has been fully identified pending his arrest.
The arrested suspect is currently being questioned as part of a judicial investigation conducted by the National Brigade of Judicial Police under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, with a view to determining all the circumstances surrounding these criminal acts, as well as establishing when they occurred and fully identifying everyone involved.
