Just days after posting a video that sparked widespread outrage and condemnation, showing him skinning and roasting a dead dog while presenting it as an «Eid al-Adha sacrifice», controversial Moroccan YouTuber Ayoub Bn Nsns was arrested by police in M'diq on Thursday under a warrant issued against him.
Mohamed Amziane, president of the Al Rahma Association for the Care of Stray Dogs in M'diq, told Yabiladi that the arrest took place in the Diza neighborhood of Martil, in the M'diq-Fnideq prefecture. Bn Nsns was subsequently transferred to the competent security authorities in Temara, his hometown, as part of the ongoing legal proceedings.
The Al Rahma Association for the Care of Stray Dogs in M'diq, together with the Al Amal Association for Animal Welfare in Tetouan and the Mizan Al Rahma Wal Adala Association for the Defense of Animals in Tetouan, had filed a complaint with the relevant authorities, calling for an investigation into the incident and appropriate legal action.
Ayoub Bn Nsns is known for producing content centered on controversial challenges and adventures, particularly in forests and remote areas, where he documents unusual experiences in an effort to attract views and engagement on social media.
Several of his videos have sparked controversy in recent years. These include clips in which he appeared to eat insects, as well as videos showing him discovering chickens left near shrines and believed to have been used in rituals associated with sorcery, before proceeding to eat them. He has also posted videos of himself cooking various animals, including a rat and a scorpion, and shared footage of a challenge in which he asked someone to bury him alive, drawing widespread criticism from followers and social media users.
