National coach Mohamed Ouahbi expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance against Scotland in their second Group C match of the 2026 World Cup, highlighting the progress made since the opening draw against Brazil.

«I’m satisfied. I saw progress compared with the first match, and that’s what matters most to me,» Ouahbi said at the post-match press conference following Morocco’s 1-0 victory at Boston Stadium.

The coach said his side controlled much of the game, displaying greater composure as a unit and creating several dangerous opportunities.

«We dominated the match, we played well, found depth and created several chances,» he said.

Reflecting on the closing stages, Ouahbi acknowledged that his players had to withstand some late pressure from the Scots.

«We had a few scares at the end of the game. The opposition tried to play long balls in behind our defenders, but we adjusted our system to deal with them,» he explained.

Ouahbi stressed that each match presents different challenges and requires specific tactical responses.

«This was a different match from the one against Brazil. Every game has its own characteristics, and we have to find solutions as the match unfolds,» he said.

According to the coach, the Atlas Lions showed they can remain faithful to their style of play while coping with difficult moments.

«Today, the team showed that it knows how to dig in when necessary, but also how to respond to pressure by finding solutions,» he added.

Looking ahead, Ouahbi warned that qualification for the knockout stage is not yet secured.

«We are still not qualified. Our objective is to win our next match against Haiti,» he concluded.
