Oracle, a key player in software publishing and technology, has unveiled its second R&D center in Agadir, Morocco. This new hub, inaugurated on Monday, aims to revolutionize the future of AI for global customers by fostering innovation within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, «AI-powered applications, data platforms and industry solutions», according to an official statement.
The announcement coincides with the inauguration of the Oracle Cloud Casablanca region, which is now fully operational. Additionally, a «second cloud region is planned in Settat, alongside established R&D hubs in Casablanca and Agadir».
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Aziz Akhannouch, Head of Government; Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform; Karim Zidane, Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence and the Evaluation of Public Policies; and Simon de Montfort Walker, Oracle's executive vice president of Industry Applications.
Akhannouch emphasized Morocco's «high-quality talent pool», its «strong academic institutions», and the «digital ambition championed at the state's highest levels». He noted, «Oracle plays a valued role as an economic and strategic partner in the digital transformation» of the country.
Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni highlighted the «growing attractiveness of all Morocco’s regions for high value-added technology investments», aligning with the national AI Made in Morocco roadmap. Meanwhile, Karim Zidane commented that «beyond Casablanca, the Kingdom’s cities are gradually establishing themselves as hubs of innovation, talent, and digital excellence».
The Agadir center boasts collaborative workspaces, development environments, and innovation labs, all designed to «support research, experimentation, and product development».
