Michael Benyahia wins his first Formula Renault 2.0 trophy

Michael Benyahya, a young driver with dual Moroccan and American citizenship won his first trophy by competing at the Formula Renault 2.0. The 15 year-old champion, arrived first ahead of all junior pilots racing in the Portimao circuit. 

Along with a number of professional pilots, Michael was able to be a podium finisher racing in the Portuguese sports event, a communiqué reports. For the record, Michael Benyahia is competing for the first time at the Eurocup championship which is considered as an important step in a driver’s career.

The young man was noticed in November 2016 when he participated to the Formula E races in Marrakech during the Marrakech E award.

«The French system of training has an excellent reputation and is great for my goal of learning about motor racing. I am fortunate to be one of the few Moroccan drivers to participate in a championship like this and I intend to take this opportunity to advance my career»; Michael told Kartcom when he was about to take part in his third competition at the 74th Grand Prix de Pau.
