Munir Haddadi might soon join the Moroccan national team

Munir Haddadi, a Spanish professional football player of Moroccan descent who plays as forward for Valencia CF on loan from FC Barcelona, is accepted to be part of the Moroccan national team. According to a senior official at the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the footballer will join the Atlas lions starting from next August, Kooora.com reports.

The same source indicates that the lawyer of Munir, have received a positive response from the FIFA regarding the player’s request to change his sport nationality in order to be able to represent Morocco. After playing for FC Barcelona, Munir Haddadi will take part of the updated list of the Moroccan national team that will be ready by August before facing Mali during the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Munir who was born in 1995, began his career in the youth ranks of Atletico Madrid before joining Barcelona in 2011. He made his debut for the B-team in March 2014. In 2015 he was named one of the five top scorers in the Copa del Rey, which his team won.
