USA : Four Moroccan high school girls at the TechGirls 2017

In order to fight for women's rights and empower girls around the world to become leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, the TechGirls initiative has been implemented by the US state Department, the latter said in a statement.

Four Moroccan high school students will participate to the TechGirls exchange program on the 12th of July to the 3rd of  August. Asmae Aannaque, Yasmina El Argoubi, Asmaa Hadir and Soukaina Tachoufti will indeed spend three weeks in the United States.

They will have the opportunity to develop their technical skills, network and connect with mentors who can guide their future careers in technology.

They will participate in workshops on leadership and project management at Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Virginia and Washington DC, an interactive coding and technology camp is planned, as well as a day for taking a tour in the workplace with major technology companies.

The program is subsidized by the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs of the US State Department, targeting 130 students who, once back home, will have to 2,300 of their classmates.
