British oil company, Sound Energy confirmed on Tuesday the progress of its gas discoveries in Tendrara, eastern Morocco. According to Proactive Investors, a media outlet specialized in stock market news, the British company is about to enter a new phase towards the commercialization of gas discovered in the eastern region of the Kingdom.

Proactive Investors reports that «the Wilaya of the L'Oriental Region has approved the proposed pipeline route that will be needed to transport gas from Sound’s projects in the region into the existing Gazoduc Maghreb Europe (GME) pipeline».

Sound energy also said that it will continue to carry out its necessary technical and commercial activities in parallel with this authorization.

«I am delighted to have received this confirmation, which supports the significant progress we have made in developing our Moroccan portfolio to date,» said James Parsons, Sound Energy chief executive, quoted by Proactive Investors. «The approval is also further evidence of the relationships that Sound Energy has built in country since entering in 2015, and the mutual co-operation that exists with local, regional and governmental authorities», he said.

In July, the British company announced the acquisition of two new gas exploration licenses in the Oriental region. Two blocks named «Anoual» and «Matarka».
