A Spanish national was sentenced to one year and a half in prison for attempting to stab a Moroccan man in the city of Reus (Terragona province). He was sentenced to five other months for threatening another Moroccan with a knife, reports Diari de Tarragona, an online newspaper.

The public prosecutor's office initially required eight years' imprisonment for attempted homicide and an additional 21 months for each of the two threats related offenses. The judge prohibited the attacker from communicating or approaching the victim for three years.

For the record, in October the 11th, 2011, the individual was walking in the street when he met the Moroccan man. He then took a knife out of his pocket and pointed it at his abdomen, but did not reach it, shouting, «Shitty Arab!» Later, he met another Moroccan, wearing a djellaba and heading towards a mosque. The latter was threatened with a knife by the same person.
