Head of government Saad Eddine El Othmani met, on Friday in Rabat, with Dutch Foreign minister Stef Blok, who is on a working visit to Morocco.
A statement by the head of government's office said that during the meeting, which was an opportunity to review various aspects of bilateral relations, El Othmani and Blok commended the friendly links between the two countries.
On this occasion, the two officials stressed the need to strengthen Moroccan-Dutch cooperation in the various areas, encourage fruitful partnership between economic actors, make known the potential and important investment opportunities available thanks to Morocco's economic momentum, as well as promote cultural exchange between the two countries.
They also discussed the level of coordination between the two countries on several subjects of common interest, notably migration, the development of the multilateral cooperation program benefiting friendly African countries and the strengthening of the Morocco-European Union partnership, the same source said.
During this meeting, El Othmani raised the issue of the Moroccan Sahara, reaffirming the mobilization of all components of Morocco to defend it and face all attempts to undermine national sovereignty.
In this regard, he reiterated that Morocco will work with the international community to find a consensual political solution in order to put an end to this artificial dispute, noting that the Netherlands, as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, can play a role in this issue.
