Morocco was honored Thursday evening in Washington, DC, at the 10th edition of the DC Embassy Chef Challenge, which nominates the best chefs of diplomatic representations in the US federal capital, says chef Faiçal Zahraoui on his Facebook page.
«I had the great honor to represent Morocco at this competition and the Kingdom Embassy in Washington».
His culinary work has been rewarded with the «Best Dressed Embassy» trophy, awarding the way he represented and decorated his gastronomic work and the Moroccan stand. Faiçal Zahraoui had cooked a Moroccan chicken with olives and spices and, for dessert, a chocolate bar with amlou spread.
«I am proud of my performance which is added to that of last year. My participation had a twofold objective: to promote Morocco's candidacy for the 2026 World Cup and to promote Moroccan cuisine, with a stand that highlighted the Moroccan culture», he said.
Organized at the prestigious Ronald Reagan Building, this edition, which has seen the participation of 28 countries and attracted between 1,500 and 2,000 people, «is a unique experience of tasting culinary works signed by internationally renowned chefs representing different cultures of the world».
