Asked on Monday night by 2M.ma sports journalist Morad Moutawakkil, Atlas Lions’ coach Hervé Renard finally addressed departure rumors.
«I was treated in an extraordinary way in Morocco, especially by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation president Fouzi Lekjaa», he clarified. The French former footballer urged Moroccans to not «fall for confusions». «There is nothing to worry about», he added before hailing his experience with the Moroccan team.
Responding to rumors suggesting that he is leaving Morocco to manage a different team, Renard insisted that «no one is entitled to speak on my behalf».
«For the moment, the situation is very clear. I have a contract until 2022, I have a boss called Mr. Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation. So for now, I'm here».
For the coach, «in football, many things are possible». «There are leaders who are not satisfied with their coaches and who can replace them but we are not there», he concluded.
2M.ma recalls that, the coach will have to return to Morocco before traveling to Senegal for a vacation.
