Moroccan French midfielder Sofiane Boufal said that joining La Liga, men's top professional football division of the Spanish football league system, is a «dream» coming true for him, says IANS press agency.
The 24-year-old international has been loaned to Spanish professional club Celta de Vigo, after he played for two seasons with Southampton, making 59 appearances and scoring four goals.
«While this past year has not been good for me in England, I also see myself as capable of winning in the Premier League,» said Boufal during his presentation as a Celta player on Monday.
«But I think that the Spanish League better adapts to my characteristics. Here, football is more technical,» he pointed out.
«I am a big La Liga fan and watch a lot of games,» said the young footballer. «I like Celta’s style. It’s a very attack-oriented team, which likes to have possession of the ball. It’s a (type of) football that matches my style», he added.
Boufal played in the past for the Angers, and Lille before joining Southampton. He played for the Morocco national football team in 2016 and 2017.
