Spain’s right-wing party, People’s Party (PP), urged on Tuesday, 14th of August, Spanish Foreign Minister Josep Borell to answer questions on the closure of commercial borders, separating Morocco and Melilla, says Europa Press.

Following the footsteps of Melilla’s president Juan José Imborda, PP's MP Carmed Dueñas said that the Kingdom’s decision was a «diplomatic slap in the face for Spain which shows that Sanchez is not respected in Morocco».

The party wants the Spanish government to act on the issue, through «diplomatic measures» and to find a «quick fix» for the situation.

On August the 1st, Morocco closed its commercial border with the Spanish enclave of Melilla. The decision was seen as an «insult to Spain’s sovereignty» over the enclave, said Monday, 13th of August, Juan Jose Imbroda, president of Melilla.

The containers, wishing to enter Morocco from the Spanish enclave, are forced now to go through the port of Bni N'sar, near Bab Melilla.
