Moroccan-Dutch midfielder Hakim Ziyech will miss the two games the Atlas Lions are scheduled to play against Comoros because of an injury, says Dutch newspaper Sportniews.

The Morocco vs. Comoros games will take place on the 13th and 16th of October, as part of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification.

After a visit to the hospital on Monday, it turned out that Ziyech is suffering from a muscle strain in his right upper leg. «After consulting the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, it was decided that Ziyech would stay in Amsterdam to recover», said Ajax, quoted by the same source.

It is unkown how long Ziyech’s recovery will take.

For the record, Hakim Ziyech was part of the squad selected by coach Hervé Renard to represent Morocco at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
