The Council of Government, convened on Friday under the chairmanship of Head of Government, Saad Eddine El Othmani, adopted a draft decree to stay on the summer time permanently.
The decree stipulates that Morocco's local time will be Greenwich Mean Time + 1 (GMT +1) and will not be changed over the course of the year.

The plan was presented by the Minister in charge of Reform and Public Administration, Mohamed Benabdelkader.
Staying on GMT +1, according to MAP news agency, is «to avoid the changes of time during the year and the problem that they create».
