Nationals from Mali, Guinea-Conakry and Congo-Brazzaville will be able to use «Electronic Travel Authorization» (eTA) to enter Morocco.
The information was the subject of a letter sent by the regional representative of Royal Air Maroc in Gabon, Aziz Cherradi, to the headquarters of the national carrier. In this letter, shared online, Cherradi indicates that Malian Guinean and Congolese nationals wishing to travel to Morocco must «from now on request their eTA at least 96 hours before their departure».
The document must then be presented to airports authorities before departure. This electronic authorization was requested by the Moroccan authorities, indicates the same letter.
Contacted by Yabiladi, a source from the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation confirmed the information. «It is a non-binding procedure that can be done remotely», said the same source.
The same source stressed that the new procedure will allow Morocco to «know the reasons behind the trips of these nationals and facilitate the procedures at the border crossings». «The first phase will be experimental», added the same source.
