Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita praised, Wednesday in La Celle-Saint-Cloud (western Paris), the exceptional partnership, supported at the highest level by King Mohammed VI and president of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, linking Morocco and France.
In a statement to the press on the occasion of a meeting with French minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian, Bourita welcomed the holding of this meeting in the room of the Château de La Celle-Saint-Cloud where, in November 1955, the agreements marking the end of the exile of late Mohammed V and the royal family were signed and initiated Morocco's transition to independence.
«It is a very symbolic place for the Moroccan-French relationship, it is a place that embodies this common history and shared memory between Morocco and France, which is now being strengthened by an exceptional partnership», said Bourita.
The minister also stressed that his many meetings and contacts with Le Drian provide opportunities to exchange and consult with him on issues of interest to both countries and to give even greater visibility to the exceptional partnership between Morocco and France.
Bourita said that both Morocco and France are called upon to discuss important regional issues, such as the situation in Libya on the eve of an important meeting in Italy.
In this regard, the minister referred to the conference on migration to be held in Marrakech next December, the situation in Africa where Morocco and France often coordinate their positions, in addition to global issues, notably migration and the fight against terrorism.
