Migration : The European Union says aid granted to Morocco will be delivered soon

After Spain's secretary of state for migration Consuelo Rumi announced that she would fly to Brussels to enquire about the money the European Union is granting Morocco, the body responded in a letter sent on Friday, January the 4th.

In a letter, the European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn said that aid granted to Morocco won’t be delayed, reports Spanish news agency Europa Press. The Commissioner stressed that the European Union has been working «on the operation with the Spanish authorities».

Hahn stressed in his letter that the grant includes 30 million euros dedicated to the strengthening of borders. «70 million euros will be granted to the Moroccan government to manage its borders», stressing that 30 million euros have already been delivered to Rabat on December the 20th», the same source added.
