Morocco was elected, on Friday in Addis Ababa, as president of the Special Technical Committee for Trade, Industry and Mining Resources of the African Union.
The position will be assumed as of Friday by Secretary of State for foreign trade Rokaya Derham.
«On behalf of the government of the Kingdom of Morocco, I am very pleased to take part as President in the Second Ordinary Meeting of the Special Technical Committee for Trade, Industry and Mining Resources», said Derham.
«Our participation in this second meeting of the committee and in other bodies of the AU testifies to the adherence and the commitment of the Kingdom of Morocco to the strategies and the actions carried out by the pan-African organization», noted Derham.
The Moroccan delegation, chaired by Ambassador Mohamed Arrouchi, Morocco's Permanent Representative to the AU and UNECA, is composed of representatives of different ministerial departments.
