As a contribution to international efforts to fight against terrorism, and to protect its citizens, Moroccan authorities on Sunday repatriated eight of its nationals who were stuck in areas of conflict in Syria, the Interior Ministry said.

This repatriation operation, which is of a humanitarian nature, allowed Moroccan nationals to return to their country of origin in complete safety, the ministry said in a statement.

These returnees will be subjected to judicial investigations for their alleged involvement in terrorism-related acts, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office, the same source concludes.
