Egypt apologizes after «SADR»’s flag was at a platform for purchasing Afcon tickets

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Egyptian Football Association have apologized to Morocco after a platform that sells tickets for the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) included the flag of the «Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR)».

Accoridng to London-based newspaper Al Quds Al Arabi, the Egyptian Football Federation stressed that it «was an unintentional mistake» committed by the organizing committee. The same source said that the mistake was corrected.

Quoting a source close to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the newspaper said that the body was angered by the mistake.

For the record, the 32nd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) will be held in Egypt from June the 21st to July 19th. Twenty-four teams will participate in the tournament for the first time.
