Brazilian couple arrested at Mohammed V airport for drug trafficking

Policemen at the Mohammed V international airport in Casablanca arrested on Thursday a Brazilian couple, aged 20 and 27, for their alleged involvement in the possession and trafficking of cocaine.

The pair was arrested upon their arrival on a flight from Sao Paolo (Brazil), national police said in a statement, adding that the woman was in possession of 210 grams of cocaine.

X-Ray reports of the couple revealed presence of capsules in their stomachs, the source added.

The pair was rushed into Ibn Rochd University Hospital to remove the capsules from their stomachs.

They will be placed on custody pending the completion of the investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor.
