A security operation carried out, on Friday, by the judicial police brigade in the city of Kenitra, near Rabat, led to the arrest of three individuals for their alleged links with a criminal network involved in organizing irregular immigration and human trafficking.

The suspects were apprehended in a house in Kenitra, accompanied by six would-be immigrants aged between 17 and 53 years, said a statement by the national police (DGSN), adding that search operations resulted in the seizure of a rented car and a sum of money of about 48,700 dirhams.

Police investigation reveals that one of the arrested individuals is the subject of a wanted notice issued by the Beni Mellal judicial police for his alleged involvement in a case of forgery.

The suspects were placed in police custody to complete the inquiry conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office, while the would-be immigrants were heard to determine the ins and outs of this case and identify all the accomplices involved in this criminal network, the statement concluded.
