Coronavirus : The 19 suspected cases in Morocco have all tested negative

In Morocco, 19 suspected cases of the novel coronavirus have tested negative, the Health Ministry announced in a post published, Thursday, on its Facebook page.

A source at the Marrakech Mohammed VI University Hospital (CHU) told Yabiladi that an Italian national, who was suspected of contracting coronavirus, was admitted to the facility, where he tested negative. «He was not infected with coronavirus», the same source stressed.

Local media reported on Wednesday that a Moroccan who lives in Italy has reportedly been admitted to the Hassan II regional hospital in Settat. Coming from Naples, he tested negative for the coronavirus.

During the same day, the International University of Rabat (UIR) announced that there was no coronavirus case recorded among its students.

Earlier in the day, an internal memo sent to students mentioned that there was a student with «fever symptoms», who had been to «a private trip to the United States». «As a preventive measure, the International University of Rabat has informed the health authorities to carry out the necessary tests», the memo read. A containment measure was put in place before it was lifted.
