After Melilla, Ceuta, Algeria and Spain, Morocco is launching an air bridge with Turkey on Tuesday to repatriate Moroccans stranded there.

According to sources within the Moroccan consulate in Istanbul, three Royal Air Maroc flights will leave the Istanbul Ataturk International Airport for Tetouan, carrying 300 Moroccans.

«We have at least 3,000 people here, but these flights will be repatriating only the most vulnerable ones», Mohamed Ifriquine, consul general of Morocco in Istanbul, told Yabiladi. The flights are expected to arrive in Morocco today.

A well-informed source also said that this «air bridge» will help Morocco repatriate other nationals in the coming days. «Dozens of flights from RAM» will be chartered in the coming days, the same source added.

For the record, 109 Moroccans were repatriated Monday from the Canary Islands.
