Morocco sets new record of daily Covid-19 infections, with 826 cases

826 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 22,213.

59 new recoveries were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the kingdom to 17,125.

Seven (7) deaths were recorded between yesterday and today. The total number of deaths related to Covid-19 reached 334.

Morocco now has 4,754 active cases under treatment, most of them in the region of Casablanca-Settat (1,467), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma (1,389), Fez-Meknes (959 ), Marrakech-Safi (486) and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (203 cases).

81 of these cases are in serious or critical condition because of age and / or chronic illnesses, including 7 on ventilators. These cases are located in Casablanca-Settat (25), Marrakech-Safi (23), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma (17), Fez-Meknes (14) and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (2).

Most of the new cases were recorded in Casablanca, Fez, Tangier, and Marrakech

668 of the new cases (81%) were detected in four Moroccan cities, namely Fez, Tangier, Marrakech and Casablanca.

Casablanca-Settat region comes first with 284 new cases : 280 in Casablanca, 2 cases in Mohammedia and two cases in El Jadida. Next comes Fez-Meknes, with 206 new cases : 173 in Fez, 12 in Sefrou, 6 in Taounate, 5 in Meknes, 5 cases in Taza, three cases in El Hajib, one case in Moulay Yacoub and one case in Boulmane.

Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma recorded 167 new cases : 130 in Tangier, 12 cases in Tetouan, 11 cases in Al Fahs Anjra, 6 cases in Larache, 4 in Al Hoceima, two cases in Ouazzane and two in M ' diq-Fnideq.

Marrakech-Safi recorded 95 new cases : 85 in Marrakech, 7 cases in Rhamna province, two cases in Safi and one case in Essaouira.

Rabat-Salé-Kénitra recorded 33 new cases : 13 in Témara, 6 in Sidi Kacem, 5 in Rabat, 5 in Salé, 3 cases in Kénitra and one case in Sidi Slimane. 15 new cases were confirmed in Beni Mellal-Khénifra (9 in Khénifra and 6 cases in Béni Mellal), while 10 cases were recorded in Dakhla (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab).

8 new cases were recorded in the Oriental region : Two cases in Berkane, two cases in Jerada, one case in Oujda, one case in Berkane, one case in Dirouch and one case in Figuig.

Five cases were identified in Laayoune (Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra), one case in Errachidia and one case in Ouarzazate (Drâa-Tafilalet) as well as one case in Agadir (Souss-Massa).
