Man arrested in Fez for spreading fake news on Covid-19 precautionary measures

Policemen on Friday evening arrested a 62-year-old man in Fez for his alleged involvement in spreading fake news calling into question the precautionary measures issued by public authorities to curb the spread of Covid-19 and insulting constitutional institutions.

The suspect has published several digital contents, posts and edited photos containing erroneous data calling into question the measures issued by public authorities to fight against the spread of the pandemic, National Police (DGSN) said in a statement, adding that these publications also included insults against constitutional institutions.

The man was placed on custody, while an investigation is underway under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office.
