In March 2020, Morocco’s right to access information law has been implemented. The long-awaited law, however, remains hard to apply due to several shortcomings in both the public and private sectors.
Speaking on national TV, Saturday, Morocco’s Head of Government Saadeddine El Othmani said that the Kingdom has reserved 970 beds for eventual Covid-19 patients. He further reassured Moroccans, indicating that all decisions taken so far are preventive to secure the public health of Moroccans.
According to the director of the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division at the Health Ministry Mohamed Lyoubi, all but one of the confirmed coronavirus cases in Morocco have been abroad. The cases include a nine-month-old toddler who tested positive for the virus.
