On Wednesday, Reporters Without Borders denounced the heavy sentences handed down to six citizen journalists who were in Al Hoceima to cover Hirak protests.
On Tuesday, the criminal chamber of Casablanca’s appeal court handed down sentences ranging from 20 years in jail to one-year prison term against Hirak detainees. The decision was described as «unfair» by Moroccan politicians.
After Hirak detainees received heavy sentences, ranging from 20 to 2 years, their families and some of their lawyers took their disappointment to social media to denounce the court’s decision.
