21.51.وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ رُشْدَهُ مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا بِه عَالِمِينَ

21.51. Nous avions auparavant indiqué à Abraham la bonne voie, car Nous savions qu'il en était digne.

21.51 . And We verily gave Abraham of old his proper course , and We were Aware of him ,

21.51. Walaqad atayna ibraheema rushdahu min qablu wakunna bihi AAalimeena

21.52.إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ مَا هَذِهِ التَّمَاثِيلُ الَّتِي أَنتُمْ لَهَا عَاكِفُونَ

21.52. C'est ainsi qu'il dit un jour à son père et à son peuple : «Que signifient ces statues auxquelles vous montrez tant d'attachement?»

21.52 . When he said unto his father and his folk : What are these images unto which ye pay devotion?

21.52. Ith qala li-abeehi waqawmihi ma hathihi alttamatheelu allatee antum laha AAakifoona

21.53.قَالُوا وَجَدْنَا آبَاءنَا لَهَا عَابِدِينَ

21.53. – «Nous avons trouvé, répondirent-ils, nos ancêtres attachés à leur culte !»

21.53 . They said : We found our fathers worshippers of them .

21.53. Qaloo wajadna abaana laha AAabideena

21.54.قَالَ لَقَدْ كُنتُمْ أَنتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُمْ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ

21.54. – «Vous étiez assurément, répliqua Abraham, vous et vos ancêtres, dans un égarement évident.»

21.54 . He said : Verily ye and your fathers were in plain error .

21.54. Qala laqad kuntum antum waabaokum fee dalalin mubeenin

21.55.قَالُوا أَجِئْتَنَا بِالْحَقِّ أَمْ أَنتَ مِنَ اللَّاعِبِينَ

21.55. – «Es-tu venu nous apporter la vérité, dirent-ils, ou est-ce une plaisanterie de ta part?»

21.55 . They said : Bringest thou unto us the truth , or art thou some jester?

21.55. Qaloo aji/tana bialhaqqi am anta mina allaAAibeena
