Morocco set a new coronavirus cases record on Saturday, August 8, 2020. Morocco recorded 1,345 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, as well as 19 deaths.
The reassuring version of the Polisario leadership on the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the Tindouf camps is denounced by Sahrawi doctors, who warned against the worrying spread of the virus in the camps.
In Marrakech, health workers and trade unionists at the Mohammed VI University Hospital denounced the worrying situation of their healthcare facility. They regretted the absence of barrier measures, protective equipment and guidance for patients, in addition to the infection of 30 members of the facility’s medical staff.
Accoridng to a newly approved protocol, asymptomatic coronavirus cases will be sent home for a 7-day treatment period and an additional self-isolating 7-day period. The new decision comes as the number of daily infections in the Kingdom is on the rise.
Between Tuesday and Wednesday, 1,283 coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco. The update brings the number of active cases to 8,071, including 108 ones in critical conditions.
