The two friendly matches the Morocco national football team is expected to play against Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo are a new challenge and the start of a new adventure for the Atlas Lions, the team’s manager Vahid Halilhodzic said.

«I expect good results during this important challenge, especially when it comes to the Senegalese team, which I consider to be the best African team», he added.

The coach explained that the new squad was chosen carefully through several months of observation and discussions. «I want to challenge these players», he said.

Halilhodzic said the situation is complicated, due to the large number of absences, which disrupted the preparation of the national team.

He disapproved of the behavior of certain clubs that have prohibited their players from coming to defend the colors of their country. The coach also said that he wants to involve Chelsea player Hakim Ziyech, but his injury does not allow it yet. «We need him in November more than now», he explained.

Halilhodzic has also made it known that he wants to give new players time to test them and see what they can bring to the national team, while looking for the typical team that will start in the next rounds.

The Atlas Lions will face in a first friendly match Senegal, Friday, before playing against the Democratic Republic of Congo, next Tuesday.
