Coronavirus : Morocco records highest number of daily infections, with 4,320 cases

4,320 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 212,038.

3,320 new recoveries were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 174,911.

66 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 3,572. 16 of these deaths were recorded in the region of Casablanca-Settat, 12 in the Oriental, 8 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 8 in Souss-Massa, 5 in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma, 5 in Drâa-Tafilalet, 4 in Marrakech-Safi, 4 in Béni Mellal-Khénifra and 4 in Fès-Meknes.

The country has 33,555 active cases, including 787 in critical conditions. 60 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 2,033 cases: 1,557 in Casablanca, 137 in Mohammedia, 85 in Nouceur, 72 in Berrechid, 56 in El Jadida, 53 in Settat , 40 in Médiouna, 31 in Benslimane and 2 in Sidi Bennour. The Oriental region follows with 566 cases: 275 in Oujda-Angad, 84 in Nador, 63 in Taourirt, 55 in Berkane, 52 in Jerada, 30 in Guercif, 6 in Figuig and 1 in Driouch.

Then comes Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, with 521 cases: 138 in Skhirat-Témara, 130 in Sale, 75 in Rabat, 72 in Kénitra, 39 in Khémisset, 39 in Sidi Slimane and 28 in Sidi Kacem. Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma follows with 301 infections: 97 in Tanger-Assilah, 64 in Al Hoceïma, 62 in Tétouan, 27 in M'diq-Fnideq, 21 in Ouezzane, 19 in Larache and 11 in Chefchaouen.

Souss-Massa recorded 262 cases: 136 in Agadir Ida Ou Tanane, 61 in Taroudant, 33 Inezgane Aït Melloul, 19 in Chtouka Aït Baha, 12 in Tiznit and 1 in Tata.

Marrakech-Safi recorded 222 new cases: 145 in Marrakech, 35 in Kelâa des Sraghna, 11 in Youssoufia, 9 in Rehamna, 8 in Chichaoua, 8 in Essaouira, 5 in El Haouz and 1 in Safi. In Beni Mellal-Khénifra, 117 cases were confirmed: 32 in Béni Mellal, 30 in Fqih Bensalah, 28 in Khouribga, 24 in Azilal and 3 in Khénifra.

The Drâa-Tafilalet region recorded 105 new infections: 46 in Errachidia, 26 in Tinghir, 15 in Ouarzazate, 10 in Midelt and 8 in Zagora. Fès-Meknes recorded 76: 24 in Taza, 18 in Fez, 10 in El Hajeb, 9 in Meknes, 8 in Taounate, 4 in Sefrou and 3 in Moulay Yacoub.

Laayoune-Es Sakia El Hamra confirmed 64 new cases: 42 in Laayoune, 20 in Es-Semara and 2 in Boujdour. Guelmim-Oued Noun recorded 27 infections: 15 in Guelmim, 7 in Sidi Ifni and 5 in Tan Tan. Dakhla-Oued Ed Dahab confirmed 26 cases, all in Oued Ed Dahab.
