In a move bolstering its presence in the luxury tourism sector, Spanish hotel chain Senator & Resorts officially announced the upcoming opening of its first hotel in Morocco.

The new establishment, named Senator Babilonia, will begin welcoming guests in May 2024, marking the beginning of the chain's ambitious growth plans for the year.

This expansion aligns with Senator & Resorts' 2024 strategy to explore new international destinations. Dakhla, a rising star in the world of water sports like surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing, was chosen as the group's inaugural Moroccan location.

The initial phase of Senator Babilonia will offer 50 rooms, serving as a stepping stone for the chain's wider international ambitions. Currently a strong player in Spain's tourism sector with 4 and 5-star hotels in key destinations, Senator Hotels & Resorts is now setting its sights on Dakhla's burgeoning tourism scene.

«Dakhla is a dream destination for water sports enthusiasts of all levels and a booming tourist destination due to its diverse activities and landscapes», the company emphasizes, highlighting the city's unique appeal.

With a current portfolio of 33 establishments under three distinct brands, totaling over 7,300 rooms, Senator Hotels & Resorts views its Moroccan expansion as a strategic move to capitalize on the region's growing tourism market.
