On Wednesday evening, Niger's Prime Minister, Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine, relayed a message to his Moroccan counterpart, Aziz Akhannouch, from President Abdourrahman Tiani, head of state of Niger. The message, addressed to King Mohammed VI, was delivered on the instructions of the President, according to a post by Akhannouch on the X platform.

Earlier on Monday, Zeine had announced his upcoming trip to Morocco on the same social network. He will be leading a ministerial delegation that includes the Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs.

This visit comes after Niger joined King Mohammed VI's initiative on December 23rd, 2023, which aims to provide Sahelian countries with access to the Atlantic Ocean.
