Morocco's security chief Hammouchi visits UK to boost security cooperation

Starting Tuesday, March 5, Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, conducted a two-day working visit to the United Kingdom. The visit included meetings and discussions with British security officials regarding mechanisms for developing joint cooperation in various security fields, particularly counter-terrorism and transnational organized crime.

The program included working meetings with Ken McCallum, Head of the Internal Intelligence Service (MI5), and British counter-terrorism specialists, reads a press release by Morocco’s security services. The two parties discussed common security concerns and regional and international challenges.

Director General Hammouchi also paid an official visit to London's Metropolitan Police headquarters, New Scotland Yard. There, he met with Commissioner-General Mark Rowley and Chief Counter-Terrorism Police Officer Matt Jukes. The visit concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding to strengthen bilateral cooperation in security, particularly counter-terrorism.

During the visit, Hamouchi and his delegation toured British police facilities and equipment, including the Center for Command and Management of Security Operations in London.
