Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan received the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, on Thursday evening in Casablanca during a brief visit to the Kingdom.
Upon his arrival at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, the Chinese Head of State was welcomed by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan. Following this, Xi Jinping was greeted by the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, before inspecting a detachment of the Royal Guard in a formal ceremony.
The Crown Prince and the Chinese President were then introduced to several officials, including the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region and Governor of the Casablanca Prefecture, Mohamed Mhidia; the President of the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council, Abdellatif Maâzouz; the Governor of the Province of Nouaceur, Jalal Benhayoun; as well as other provincial and municipal representatives. They were also greeted by Li Changlin, China’s Ambassador to Morocco, along with senior officials from the Chinese Embassy.
The delegation accompanying President Xi Jinping included prominent figures such as Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau and Director General of the CPC Central Committee, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and Hua Chunying, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
After a short pause in the VIP lounge, the official motorcade proceeded to the Chinese President's residence in Casablanca.
