On Thursday, police at Casablanca's Mohammed V Airport arrested a Dutch national of Turkish origin who was wanted by Dutch judicial authorities for arms trafficking.
According to a security source, the suspect was apprehended upon arrival from Istanbul. A check in the Interpol database confirmed that he was the subject of an international arrest warrant for possession and trafficking of firearms. He has been taken into custody pending extradition.
Dutch authorities have been informed of the arrest and are expected to submit the extradition file. This operation is part of ongoing international security cooperation and Morocco’s efforts to track down individuals wanted for transnational crimes.
