The historic site of Chellah in Rabat marks its first Ramadan since reopening with a special program: «Celestial Nights». From March 5 to 26, 2025, this iconic landmark in the Moroccan capital will be transformed into a space for contemplation and discovery, offering ftours and immersive astronomy-themed activities under a starry sky.
Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2012, Chellah is a major archaeological treasure, showcasing Merinid, Roman, and Mauretania legacies. Since its reopening in May 2024, following extensive restoration work that began in 2021, the site now offers an enriched visitor experience, including an audio-guided tour.
• Spiritual Evenings «Celestial Nights»
Four evenings (March 7, 14, 21, and 22) starting at 6:30 PM, featuring a ftour crafted by Chef Hicham Aouad, followed by poetic and musical performances within the Chellah grounds.
• Artisan Printing Workshops «Celestial Bodies» (with KIMIA Collective)
Exploring photochemical processes like cyanotype to create works inspired by celestial bodies and the site.
• Astronomical Encounters «Astral Perspective» (with Steps Into Space, Hassan Talibi & Mohamed Amrar)
Lectures and observation sessions on the history of astronomy in Morocco.
• Clay Instrument Creation Workshops «Clay Whistles» (with Fatine Arafati)

Throughout Ramadan, the Ciconia restaurant offers daily ftours (Sunday to Thursday), while artist-hosted ftours are scheduled every Friday and Saturday.
