Former Moroccan footballer dies during attempted sea crossing near Algerian waters

Young Moroccan footballer Oussama Hamham, a former player for Amal Al-Aroui, tragically lost his life during an attempted irregular migration from the shores of Saidia, after the boat he was on came under fire from the Algerian coast guard.

Oussama was among a group of young men aboard a «Phantom» speedboat bound for Spain when they encountered Algerian forces. The confrontation ended with him fatally wounded.

Amal Al-Aroui announced the heartbreaking news on its official page, mourning the loss of one of its most respected former players.
