Aziz Senni's new book unveils €150 billion potential in France's suburbs

French-Moroccan entrepreneur and investor Aziz Senni has released a new book titled Made in the Suburbs (Michel Lafon), co-authored with journalist and writer Jean-Marc Pitte, to highlight what he calls «150 billion euros of hidden treasure in our suburbs». This publication comes twenty years after his influential work The Social Elevator is Broken, I Took the Stairs (L’Archipel), and seeks to challenge stereotypes while revealing the untapped potential of France’s suburban neighborhoods, areas that, according to Senni, could generate «over 150 billion euros in economic value and hundreds of thousands of jobs vital to national growth».

In this new volume, the founder of the Suburban Economic Forum, dubbed the «Davos of the Suburbs», outlines a concrete plan and method to unlock this potential. He calls for stronger support for the 250,000 businesses already based in these opportunity zones, which collectively generate around €75 billion in annual revenue, and for the attraction of both national and international investors.

The release date of the book is no coincidence: November 6, 2025, just three weeks before the second edition of the Suburban Economic Forum, scheduled for November 27–28 at the Palais d’Iéna in Paris. The book’s timing also marks twenty years since the 2005 suburban riots, offering what Senni describes as a «240-page economic toolbox to turn indignation into action».

Born in Morocco in 1976 and brought to France just forty days later, Aziz Senni grew up in the Val Fourré district of Mantes-la-Jolie. Today, he represents «the journey of a child from working-class roots who became an entrepreneur and investor». Founder of multiple companies, an investment fund, and the Suburban Economic Forum, Senni is now recognized as one of the leading voices in the economic revitalization of France’s working-class neighborhoods.
