Moroccans among travelers required to obtain eVisas to visit the UK

As of February 25, 2026, Moroccan nationals traveling to the United Kingdom who require a visa will receive an electronic visa (eVisa) only, the UK embassy in Morocco announced Wednesday on its X account. The measure applies to all visa-requiring travelers worldwide and replaces the physical visa stickers previously placed in passports.

An eVisa is a digital record of a person’s identity and immigration status in the UK, including the type of visa granted and the conditions attached to it, such as the right to work or study. It also replaces biometric residence permits (BRPs), biometric residence cards (BRCs), as well as wet-ink stamps and visa vignettes.

Travelers can access their eVisa through a free UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) account, according to UK Government website. Through this account, users can view their immigration status, generate a share code to prove their status when required (for example, for employment or renting a home), and link their passport or travel document for international travel.
