According to Senator Marco Rubio's office, Christopher T. Yeaw, the Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Arms Control and Nonproliferation at the U.S. Department of State, is set to visit Morocco. His itinerary, spanning from April 5 to 9, also includes a stop in Belgium, as confirmed by the same sources.

Appointed in February, Yeaw is expected to engage in discussions with several Moroccan officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita. Bourita is currently in Egypt attending a high-level joint commission meeting between Morocco and Egypt.

It's worth noting that during Joe Biden's presidency, the previous Deputy Secretary for Arms Control, Deterrence, and Stability, Mallory Stewart, visited Morocco for two days in October 2024.

In a significant development, Morocco and the United States signed a pioneering twinning agreement in June 2024. This agreement connects the National Laboratory of Forensic Science, under Morocco's General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), with the esteemed American Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, a public institution established in 1952.
