Operation Marhaba 2026 was officially launched on Wednesday, June 10, at the port of Tanger Med. Dedicated to welcoming Moroccans living abroad (MREs) during the summer travel season, the initiative is being carried out under the instructions of King Mohammed VI. This 26th edition will run through September 15.
Coordinated by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, the operation relies on a comprehensive social, medical and administrative support system. A total of 26 reception sites have been established, including 20 across Morocco and six at European ports in Spain, France and Italy.
Nearly 1,400 personnel have been mobilized to assist MREs during both their arrival and return journeys. The teams include social workers, medical and paramedical staff, as well as senior Foundation officials.
According to the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, the initiative aims to facilitate administrative and customs procedures while providing healthcare and social assistance at key transit points. A central coordination office in Rabat oversees the operation and manages the Marhaba telephone assistance service.
Over the years, Operation Marhaba has become one of the Kingdom’s flagship initiatives supporting the Moroccan diaspora during the summer period.
