An attack marked by racism and Islamophobia against members of the Li’llah association has led to the arrest of a Parisian police officer. This disturbing incident occurred on Wednesday evening, right in the heart of the capital, as the association was engaged in outreach with homeless individuals.

As reported by Le Parisien, several off-duty police officers were allegedly involved in a confrontation with the association's members. One officer has been detained, confirmed the Paris prosecutor’s office on Friday.

Preliminary investigation results reveal that the altercation took place on Impasse Saint-Eustache in the 1st arrondissement. The association claims its volunteers faced racist and Islamophobic insults, alongside physical and verbal assaults.

The prosecutor’s office further stated that the officers involved, members of a Christian association, were at their chaplain's apartment attending an event at the time of the incident.

An extensive investigation is underway to uncover the precise details surrounding the altercation. The case has ignited a strong backlash on social media, with numerous users denouncing the gravity of the allegations.
