Deschamps praises Morocco before France World Cup quarter final

France head coach Didier Deschamps on Saturday praised the quality of the Moroccan national team, Les Bleus’ next opponents in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup, following his side’s 1-0 victory over Paraguay.

Speaking at a press conference after the match, the French coach recalled that Morocco ranks among the world’s top teams, highlighting the Atlas Lions’ historic run at the previous World Cup in Doha, where they reached the semi-finals.

“From what they have done, and from what I saw in the match against Canada, it confirms that Morocco is a very good team,” Didier Deschamps said. “Morocco has not reached the World Cup quarter-finals by chance. Of course, they have the quality to do it,” the France coach noted.

Morocco will face France in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup on July 9 in Boston, with a place in the last four of the competition at stake.
