The President of the National Foundation of Museums (NFM), Mehdi Qotbi, was selected to be Morocco’s representative at the Council of the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in conflict areas (ALIPH).
Qotbi was appointed by King Mohammed VI to preserve and maintain the protection of cultural properties that are threatened by conflicts and terrorism.
Qotbi's contribution to this foundation will help promote the preservation of cultural heritage that is exposed to disastrous threats in the world.
For the record, ALIPH is a project launched by Paris, Abu Dhabi and the UNESCO to collect USD 100 millions in 2019 to restore and preserve historical works of art that were endangered by conflicts. The fund was created through a partnership that was signed in March in Geneva, Switzerland.
