The ecological club of Zineb Ennafzaouia high school located in Sidi Slimane received on Tuesday in Helsinki the LUMA Start Education Award 2017 for its project dedicated to the promotion of the culture of environmental protection in the city.
At a ceremony held at the University of Helsinki, Finnish Education Minister Sanni Grahn-Laasonen handed the "Best Practice Learning" award to Ms. Khadija Azaitraoui, Teacher and Club Coordinator.
Three major innovative projects carried out by teams of young people from Indonesia, Lithuania and Finland were also rewarded acknowledging their undeniable scientific contributions. More than 800 learning communities from 36 countries attended this first edition of the LUMA Start International Competition organized by LUMA Center Finland.
The award ceremony was marked by the presence of several Finnish senior officials, researchers, experts and diplomats, including Moroccan ambassador to Helsinki, Mohamed Ariad.
