Horst Köhler will receive Thursday in Berlin an Algerian delegation led by Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel, reports the Algerian News agency APS.
Last week, the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General for Western Sahara met for two days in the German capital with Mauritania's foreign minister. He, then, held talks with the African Union Special Envoy for Western Sahara, Joaquim Chissano. A meeting that sheds light on the approach adopted by Köhler and which Morocco is hardly to accept.
In fact, the Kingdom has always called to put the Pan-African organization away from the conflict, especially when it comes to the negotiation process, arguing that the file is in the hands of the Security Council.
For the moment, Morocco is not on the list of the scheduled meetings.
For the record, the report on Western Sahara which Antonio Guterres is expected to present on April, is based primarily on the observations of his personal envoy, and the results of his tours in the region.
